Sas leaf popping sound

i have a 1991 toyota pickup thats sas all trailgear, tg 5hd leafs in it i have a really bad popping sounds in the front, i put all new bushings in them, The hangers and tubes were done buy a professional 4x4 shop, The popping happens when i turn left to right i know these leafs pop abit normally due to the full military wrap, But when i turn it pops so much i can feel it through the floor board of my truck and you can see the rear leafs trying to kick out. The leafs that were in the truck were only 8 months old. I had a brand new set of tg 5 hd's sitting at home so i put them in with new bushings in them and its still happening All shackle bolts are tight everythings greased right, U bolts are tight , And the centre pins are not sheared, The only thing ive noticed is the axle is pushed forward about half an inch on the passangers side from the spring pad that i welded on it, So im fixing that tommorow, Has anyone ran ito this popping sound and have insight on what else it might be First time doing the sas swap and need a little help

Thanks,, Rob

Spring pad on the passenger side? What are you talking about?

Something is not symmetrically aligned in your suspension thus it is binding your leaf springs. Did you install everything per the install instructions or just wing it? Take it back to the people that did install it.

Should be easy to isolate the source of the noise if you can duplicate the popping with the vehicle stopped and cranking the steering wheel side to side while poking around under the front end.

I've seen rust between the leaves of the pack make them creak and pop. Take the pack apart and wire brush it and paint them.

does it happen if you are just turning, or do the springs have to be cycled a little, meaning, could it be something in the steering? or is it def. in the springs?

I haven't really had a chance to poke around under mine yet but it is doing the exact same thing that's toytrantula is askin about...I can feel it pop and the sound is very obvious when it happens it does it weather I'm stopped or movin and turn hard left or right I feel it under my feet...ill figure it out I'm sure but maybe trantula will first lol I wanna say its the shackles up top where they bolt threw the frame tubes...just thinkin about logic here but havin crossover steering naturally when you turn either direction it will want to push the front end to 1 side and pull the truck the opposite direction and if there is any slop anywhere is sure to show up under these circumstances. My buddys heavy chevy was doin the same thing and he cured it by adding a panhard bar in the front...not really suggesting that and I'm not gonna do it but it kida shows that it was the steering doing the push pull thing making the shackle shift back and forth...

Mine did that poping sound and i felt it in my feet too. When i took my bushings out they didnt have any grease. So i put the grease to them and they where fine.
