22re fuel filter question
Has anyone used an aftermarket fuel filter on their 22re?
Dealer wants 50 bucks for one versus 20 bucks at the auto parts store or online.
Any thoughts or experience either way?

I don't think Toyota considers their older vehicles filters lifetime.
Check with Strap22 or go to trdparts4u.com and order through them. That filter won't cost $50

x2 on replacement while you have that side disassembled.
That filter should probably be replaced every 30K or so.
I had to fix a leaking coolant tube after my rebuild and I had to remove the starter and some the EGR stuff hanging below the intake manifold to get to the fuel filter. I also have a 1" BL which made it easier. It was still a PITA though and took me, well, a good part of a day to get the job done.
Are you using witchhunter performance to clean your injectors? Those guys are awesome.

1sttoyotaparts.com sells 'em for $26 bucks, not bad, but minimum shipping is another 10 bucks, grr. Still, that's probably your best bet. I'd pitch the Toyota filters against any of the aftermarkets.
