torsion bar, or what else
Proof of concept question:
My passenger front end sags about 1/2 inch lower than the driver side. I'm a newbie to IFS fixes and so I want to make sure I'm thinking right: that the reason for the sag is the torision bar, or its setting and nothing else. If there is something else that would cause this what would it be:
Could it be the shocks (they are old)
Any bushings? if so this doesn't make sense to me.
Am I missing something?

My first guess would be a worn out or bent T-bar. If the bushings were worn enough for the truck to settle that much you would have some serious clunking going on in the suspension when your were driving. Hopefully some of the experts on the t-bar suspension will chime in.

what are the actual measurements you took for the hight of the front fenders on each side?
any chance you can take a picture of the truck maybe head on, that shows the angle of the lower control arms, and post it on here?

Yeah sounds like just the torsion bars have settled unevenly, but you can temporarily fix that by adjusting it. The only problem with that is, that once it's started settling that bad, then it's already shot, and it's really time you replace it...
Bad shocks wouldn't cause it, and like TRD said about the bushings, they would have to be REALLY bad for them to do that, lol

Instead of measuring form the tire to the fender (my tires are sorta knoby) I measured from the ground to where the fender meets the bumper right in front of the tire. 32" on drivers side, 31.5" on passenger.

I'd spend about a week dousing the bolts with WD-40 or PB Blaster before I tried turning them...

RIght..I think that's why I wanted to be sure I understood what would cause the sag. I don't really need to worry too much about the droop.
But I'm making a list of things that need to be done with this truck and so the more I know, the more I'll know when to mess with or not.

if you DO go to adjusting them, it might be in your best interest to go ahead and order a new bolt and nut from a Toyota dealership BEFORE you even put a wrench on the adjuster bolts...
I thought mine looked like they were in good shape, but when I put some torque on them, well, take a look...


I think the new bolts and nuts for both sides cost me a total of $16
