Unhappy 1987 4runner interesting engine miss

So ive got an 87 4runner. its got a 22re motor in it thats recently been replaced.
warming it up, it runs fine(idles a little low, but that just means ive gotta adjust that up a little)
You drive down the road and everything runs fine. after it warms up a little bit it randomly decides it wants to miss, or feel like the engine is jumping. it seems when ever i get it to 2000rpm or more it does it.
Replaced the wires, plugs, cap, rotor and it seemed to fix it. drove 2 hours without issue.
Today me and my bro went up in the hills, put it in 4 wheel drive. got in the mud a little bit(didnt play to hard because i still didnt trust it)
Started to head back down the gravel road and then it starts it up all over again.
Any ideas, or suggestions?
Thanks,
Andrew

could be fuel filter, bad TPS, plug wire not on at the plug 100%,, or clogged air filter, also a coil going out.

I just recently fixed a random miss in my 22re by installing some NGK Iriduim spark plugs in place of the OEM replacements I had in there before. My would miss on different cylinders at different times and at different rpms. It was all over the place. You also might want to consider making sure the TPS is in specs.

Ive changed the plugs twice now. it runs fine for a little while, and then randomly starts it up. Someone suggested maybe the mass air flow sensor could be going bad? Any way to "test" it?
And it doesnt miss or jump at idle. it just does it once its been running a little while.

if it were the tps, would unplugging it make any kind of difference? like how the engine would run through all the rpm range from idle on up?
and the egr?

mine had a miss and idle issues..........

it was the air valve........

which goes away with a newer intake manifold swap

You can test if its the tps but jumping your t1 and e1 i think thats them. When jumped, if your tps is in working order your idle should drop.

So i tested it.. i adjusted the tps a little and now it raises idle when i unplug it. but it still has a weird miss. its like as you rev it up it jumps and doesnt wanna rev up all the way.
And i tried something as i was driving down the road. if i turn the truck off and start it back up it doesnt do it right away, it does it after a minute or so?

thanks for that link.
2 of the codes go along with the tps being an issue. assuming i have a 1 digit code.
