1st gen 4rnr rear windows woes

so ive been going through 4crawlers tips and tricks for the 1st gen rear window without much luck. all my wiring is fine and checks out on both ends with a voltmeter, relays seem to be fine, etc.

is it possible to just run some power wires through a rocker switch directly to the motor? forget all the other locks and safeties and such, i just need to know if that is possible. ive spent too long troubleshooting and im ready to try something different.

Yes
Get a dual pole double throw rocker (DPDT) Hard wire it from battery to window motor.

I had a DPDT switch I did all the trouble shooting because I wanted to go back to stock. I replaced the relays switch and all that stuff. I finally found a guy who sold be a relay board for $10.00. I slapped in the new board and it was good to go.

just looked at the FSM, off of the power window relay if you power up L-B and ground L-Y the motor should go one way, switch polarity to go the other. I unfortunately don't remember what colour L represents. purple?
good luck
either that or take the trim off and power up the motor directly

I used a momentary switch on our 88........on-off-on......

can't remember single or double pole but its double throw momentary....I likes it because you have total control by just letting go of the switch.

92, that sounds like what I'm looking for. I gotta find the right one. I'm hoping to find one that looks like the arb locker switch so it goes perfectly in one of those punch out spots by the radio. come on 6:30! really excited to get off work and get this done!

glad you mentioned momentary or I would have messed up. apparently I'm too picky... I wanted a momentary lighted center off dpdt switch with a flip cover but couldn't find one. plain center off momentary will have to do .

if you still have rear wiper arm/blade on, try to twist it up higher. also make sure the rear door is closed all the way. if the wiper arm is on or not returned all the way up or the door is slightly open, the window wont work.
