advanced timing issue
my friend has 85 x-cab 4wd sr5 with a 22re he advanced the timing a little it runs much better now but now when u step on the brakes it idles up and down cause the idle is a little higher than it use to be is there any way to fix that with out going back to stock timing

check the idle adjustment screw I have the same issue and found it backs itself out and gives the up and down idle you speak of I think teflon tape on it will hold it where it needs to stay I will let you know in a day or two.

do you know what the idle is at? i mean timing, sorry. being a 85 xtra cab owner myself i wouldn't be suprised this could possibly a separate issue.

update he never knew about the timing jumper and it was way the hell off its now set at stock but theres still something wrong with the idle it's like at 1200 with the screw all the way down
