91 22RE into 85 22RE truck
I have a 1985 truck that was factory fuel injected.Motor is gone but wiring and ECM all intact.I have a complete 91 22re to go in it.I have pretty much got everything worked out except for the injectors.I was told that I can just undo the resistor box on the fender and they will work.Is this true? Is it that simple? If not can someone tell me where
I can find out what needs to be done or have any of you already done this swap?

You can`t remove the solenoid resistor (resistor box), and the injectors from the 91 22RE won`t work in an 85, you need to use injectors for an 85 truck. in 88 and later 22Re`s they changed the injector plugs and also changed the injector resistance for the electrical operation, thats why they won`t work.

Man, this topic gets covered every day I swear.
Swap the wiring/ecu/injectors/everything from your 85 onto the donor motor, and it will work just fine. You cannot/do not want to use the wiring or anything else besides the engine long block from the 91.

Thanks for the info. The main reason I wanted to do this was to save buying 85 injectors but luckily I found a donor
that are the right year model and Oreillys has new plugs
(old ones were all broken) so I should be good to go.
