WA: Carbon River, October 19th, 2003

Ducky, FunRunner, Jowie, Mad Chemist and midiwall did another exploratorium. This time we took a look in the Carbon River area, just south of Carbonado. It was a WAY cool ride.

We got into a couple of trouble spots that we had to work through, found an AWESOME lake, and found something VERY unexpected! Gotta see the pics to see what we found!

A HUGE thanks to Ducky and Jowie for finding this feeder trail a couple of weeks back. When first found, they had to turn-around because of darkness, but not this time!

We're talking about making a club run down there. It's quite worth the trip. Stay tuned for details!

Mark, nice pics.
I have pulled my tent trailer I use to have over that bridge many a time, kind of scary.

I think I may know where you were.
When heading up the road to go to Mt. Rainiers Ipsut Creek campground, there is a road on the left that goes over the river I believe.
I use to take my '90 truck up that road, but it's been years since I have explored the area.

Evan's creek is just past that bridge too. Nice lake, looks like a great camping spot!

Hey Mark,

Looks like a great trip...I'm envious. That's great country up there.

Here's a link for some good free gps/topo maps that some may not be aware of.

Here's

OOOOOOhhhhh Man! I've gotta stop working so much and start funning some more. I need to get off-road...BAD! Just need a clutch, sliders, and exhaust, and I'll be good to go!
