2.4l striaght pipe

performance gains = ZERO......
and not only that it will sound like a lil ricer...er a fartcan..
get yourself a good header, a good hi-flo cat, a good muffler (magnaflow seems to be close to the top of everyone's list) and go with 2.25" tubing..should see some mild gains and it will sound good..lol

why Toyota stuck with 2.4l for all of them is beyond me, lol. Just add a freek'n liter... make this so much easier for everyone...
Exhaust helps a lot, more so in deisel applocations, but I dunno about straight pipe
you'll usually KILL some power without a little back pressure

yes it will help your diesel, also if your opening up the exhaust you'll also want to open up the intake side of it also well.
my uncle has an 85 pickup 2lt diesel and im trying to get him to do some performance stuff to it. right now i think its kind of slow. good fuel mileage though.

2.4l could be a carbed 22r, a fuley 22re, or the 2LII OR 2LII-T deisel

since almost every diesel is turbo'd, the more flow the better.
why do you think semi engines have 8 inch stacks, lol?

exactly the turbo itself is creating the back pressure so right after the turbine in the turbo the more flow the better. makes it easier to spool the turbo.
