Valve Rocker slightly off Help!

In my rebuild, I placed the rocker arm assembly on and noticed that the rocker cam was slightly off center from one of the intake valves. How can this be adjusted?

i dont even think its possible, but did you put it on backwards?
the arrows are suppose to be facing the front of the engine.

there is no adjustment for the rockers from side to side, they are held to one side by a spring. are the 3 Philips head screws in place and tight? (they probably are just something to look at)

If you rebuilt the rocker assembly, there are a couple of things to check:

There are 2 round spacers located on the intake rocker shaft on either side of the CENTER rocker tower. Make sure they are both there.

If you replaced the rockers with the new Chinese made rockers, we have seen them to be "off" in a few different aspects of the ratios causing odd fit.

Is it off on the adjuster tip to valve side, or the cam side?

Keep us posted

wouldn't it have to be off on both sides, seems how the cam and valve are inline with each other?

good call on the spacers!

That's the problem with the 'new' rockers, we have seen them actually all-sorts of mis-shapen. They have all sorts of casting issues. Batches of them are cast in China (by the lowest bidder, I'm sure), and we've seen them off by a mile on the adjuster side (adjuster screw threads off center), off on the cam side (pad cast onto rocker improper) and the width to be too wide or too much clearance on one side or the other.

We just reface OEM rockers only. It takes all of the worry out of it.
