4.37 gears good or bad?

I scored a front and rear axle with 4.37 gears in them. I have heard that the factory 4.37's are weak. I have heard that the pinion gear teeth are week. Is this true? Has anyone had experience with them? If not true would these be a good match for my 33-12.50 swampers?

i can't imagine them being worth putting in. if you're looking to crawl, stay with the 4.11s and mod your t-case; if you're looking to gear up for the bigger tires, you'll want 4.88s with 33s or possibly 5.29s if you plan 35s in the future.

Well if you got them for free run them it's not hard to change 3rds out just save the other ones in case anything happens. Me I put 5.29 gears in and love them wish they where a little lower. But any thing lower will help out with those tires.

I run 4.37 and there perfect for 31" tires. I beat the crap outa them with my 35" krawlers and have never had a problems so ya should be fine. I dont do crawlin tho theres not a single rock around here just mud and trails

you aren't supposed to run the new gears like that out of the box... there is a reason there is a 'break in' period!

or maybe you didn't have them set up correctly at all.
