I didn't have a body lift one either my 91 or 92 with 3.0's, and I had no problems getting those bolts out.

so is ther only 2 17mm bolts on top because i have the 4 bottom bolts that are extremely easy to get to. and of course the starter bolts, and the 2 other 14mm bolts. but is there any other?

The FSM shows 12 bolts total, including the starter. Take the rear cross member and rear trans mount off per the FSM and lower the engine on a jack. This will give you plenty of room.

I just took off the 12 bolts and dropped the x member, i didnt take off the rear mount. It worked out fine.

Oh yea, the center of the tranny and x case is right in front of the x member. Its the perfect balance spot haha.

When i was pulling my tranny, i could only pull it straight back about 2 inches then i realized the t case shifter housing was getting caught on the shifter plate. So i bent it up a little bit and then dropped the back.

Can you at least pull it back an inch or so?

Did you lift the engine up & pull it forward so it clears the trans? If so then something has still gotta be attached.
