33's on stock 98?
Im wondering if I can pull this off with maybe a body lift for now until I get my suspension set up 285 10.5 MT's, I need the tires now and I don't want to buy twice Ill be getting the suspension withing the next month just need the tires now for deer season and im in need of new tires BAD.

I thought I remembered seeing a member here with 33's on stock but I guess im nuts. Im just in a lame situation right now Im going to try and get the money for the suspension lift before but I don't know if I can make that work right now and I don't want to hustle and swap tires I just want to buy one set. I figured with a body lift it could work as it's way cheaper and it's also something I wanted to run I could make it work.

here is my 98 with only a body lift and 285/75's. i did some trimming and pounding on the pinch weld and they rub a little at full stuff in the front while turning i also had to remove the finder flare on the rear bumper it rubbed there to. if i disconnect the front sway bar they rub pretty bad

The thing is I don't want to go with a smaller tire as I'm getting my lift "I had to sell previous one due to financial problems" it's just I need the tires bad right now and don't want to buy twice and will be getting my lift shortly after.

its a body lift i fabricated its 1.5 inches. the rubbing isn't really hurting anything, its just the tread on the folded over pinch weld. and it doesn't rub at all on the street just when really flexing out and turned

Hmmm, I know it's not really gunna rub on the streets but thats not my concern my concern is on the trails if I can run em and wheel at least for awhile until I get my suspension set up.

Oh I thought 285 was a 33" I thought a 255 was smaller. Im not sure on what to do here because I am getting alot of different answers exactly how do you hammer out the pinch weld or take out some of the fender?

Wait a minute here... 285 255 275, are all reffering to the width of the tire in Milimeters...and the 60 65 70 75 Numbers are the aspect ratio of the sidewall compared to the width...(sidewall) or not..?

I thought 285 was the height of the tire and the 75 was the width im confused too. I think a 255 is like a 31 or thats what I thought atleast. Anyways anyone else have input ?

Example:
265/75R16
265 = tread width in millimeters
75 = aspect ratio of height to width
75% of 265mm: 265mm * .75 = 198.75mm
198.75mm * 2 = 397.5mm (multiplied by two because there is a top and bottom sidewall)
1mm = 0.0393700787 inches . . . so 397.5mm = 15.65 inches of sidewall.
R = radial construction
16 = rim diameter in inches
So...a 265/75R16 tire should measure out to:
15.65 inches of sidewall (derived from treadwidth with above calculations) PLUS 16 inches of rim, totaling 31.65 inches of overall tire.
Checking my math with the handy dandy 4Lo Metric Tire Calculator, it also shows a 265/75R16 as 31.6 inches tall.
Easiest way to figure out metric tire size is to just plug in the number in the above calculator.

265/75R16

Thats what I planned on going with actually, I just had to sell my whole OME and LC set up because of a financial situation :/. So now Im starting all over, Man I really like how you're taco is coming along scuba sure wish I had a taco!
