Heated mirrors on 3rd gen 4Runners

Did any of the 3rd gen, particularly the 2001-2002, come with heated mirrors. I'm trying to retrofit some heated ones in place of my unheated ones. From what I understand the glass can be replaced seperately, but the local dealer here in Canada only has part numbers for unheated glass in his computer. I was wondering if any come with heated mirrors and if it was a US only thing. If anyone has the part numbers that would be even better.

Yes, all US '01-'02 4Runners came standard w/ heated mirrors. See the 01 & 02 Brochure listed below. You'll see "heated mirrors" under the Standard Features:

2001: http://www.top4runners.com/runhist/3...01_4runner.pdf

2002: http://www.top4runners.com/runhist/3...02_4runner.pdf

EDIT: In 2000, only the SR5 & Limited models came w/ heated mirrors: http://www.top4runners.com/runhist/3...00_4runner.pdf

My '02 Sport has them I know. It's linked into the rear defrost button.

Thanks guys, I guess I should be calling some US dealers.

And RobD if I can't buy the glass seperately then those stick on ones might work.

My 1999 SR5 has heated mirrors. As others said, they are activated with the rear defrost button. Seams like you could use them in Canada. Good luck with the upgrade

My '97 T4R SR5 does not have heated mirrors and I REALLY wish it did have 'em for those dewy/frosty mornings. Assuming I can source a pair of outside mirrors for a 2000-up 4Runner, how hard would it be to install them on my '97? (and is it even possible?) I have not yet looked at the "newer 3rd gen 4Runners so I don't even know if they are the same style/size etc and if they are interchangeable. (just bought the '97 and was disappointed to find that the mirrors are non-heated)
