Hey guys, I'm new to this site and am looking for some help... ASAP

I had some rust developing on my 90 4runner (Wheel wells).
I'm getting it all removed and rewelding new bare metal. I want to spray the bottom panels with either a bedliner or gravel guard, but don't see the need to paint over it. I want to apply the Bedliner(do-it-yourself) or gravel guard from bumber-level to the bottom, all around the truck.
I need some serious help to chose the right product. I was told if it's too hard, it'll chip if hit by rocks and am confused as to which brand to go with.
So far, I have looked at the following brands:

• Gator Guard II
• EZ Liner
• Gravel Guard by Dominion Sure Seal

I want something with a nice texture and look, and do NOT want it to peel off or crack.

here is Herculiner in the cab of my pickup. its roll o nbed liner. you can buy it at tractor supply for bout 100 bucks. the kit comes with a gallon of it and everything you need. i pu ton 2 coats and still have almost 3/4 of the can left. i highly recommend it. for the price you cant beat it

 

Looks great!!! Unfortunatly, I can't find Hurculiner where I am. I live in BC Canada(Don't ignore me for that...lol)
I heard the stuff is pretty good. I'm looking for spray-on stuff though. Anyhting similar and how does it work on the outside of the truck? Does it fade, crack, etc?

I did the same as above but used the duplicolor. I did 2 coats on the 4Runner and had a wee bit left over. It was about $70.00 at Advanced Auto.

The say it will fade over time though. I do plan on using it on the fenders and quarters.

Lumpy, how is that holding up for you?

I told myself i would never use dupli-color after the incident i had when i did my sas. I did some good prep work and painted EVERYTHING and it chipped off like crazy. So im displeased with their products, but haven't heard anything about the bed liner.


We just did the rocker panels on my buddy's 85 last night. I cant wait to see it today and see how it turned out.

 

I did it just a few months ago and so far so good. I have yet to do the exterior, later when I find the time. I have noticed that the rubber mat in the back left indentations in it, the mat had all those little nipples in the bottom.












I think it stays a little soft and when it gets really hot it softens up a bit. I think it'll hold up well though. if not wipe it off an roll more on.

Lumpy, nice clean work. Just a rookie question: Is the carpet glued down to the body? Is it easy to take out? I would like to bedline the inside of my 90 4runner as well.

 

This old girl was a real mess when I got her, she still has quite a bit of cancer but were taking care of that slowly. This is what I started with. The main reason I pulled the carpet is that I could not get the horrible smell out. It smelled of old, wet, dirty, dead, dog.



The carpet came out easy enough, there were places that the insulation was glued. I only had an issue under the drivers foot area. I did not remove the noise dampening stuff though.

1. remove the seats and center console.
2. remove lower plastic trim
3. remove carpet

I think it took about 6 hours to do it all...that's taking it all out, applying 2 coats (30 min dry time, it was a warm day) I think I let it sit for about an hour before I put the seats back in. Should of waited a bit more, like the next day but it went well.

I did not remove the rear heater or the shifters, just worked around it.

Has anyone tried Gravel Guard I by Dominion Sure Seal?
I'm hearing good stuff about it and might end up using it to cover the outside bottom panels. Apparently bedliners tend to crack or chip if hit by rocks. Anyone?

I have not messed with it...If it chips reroll it and give it a quick shot of paint and your good to go.
