Found my Rattle >_<
Well recently a rattling noise developed on my truck right after i replaced the tires and aligned it plus new shocks. the day after all these were done the rattle began.
its a 94 ext cab SR5. the rattle is coming frm the rear right tire... it was driving me crazy but when i punch the right tire i can hear the noise. which frm upclose is kinda like a ringing noise. it sounds like something is loose in there... plus if i punch the opposite rear tire it still creates a rattle in the right tire....
when im driving it only does the noise when i drive over a bumpy road. but over flat smooth roads i cant hear it at all. so i dunno im really confused i just hope its nothing to expensive cuz times r ruff

Something stuck in the tire when it was mounted? A loose tire weight? Busted shock rubber grummet?
Take the tire off and then the brake drum and see if there's anything in there?
If they are aluminum rims, were the proper lug nuts put back on?

Yeah X2 on something inside the tire. If you do take it off listen to it as you roll it around. You'll hear something sliding or bouncing around in there. If thats it, it won't cost you a dime. Take it back.

i took it to the same guy who aligned it for me. and he took off the tire and took opened up the drum or rotor or watever it is lol. as he opened it a long screw with a whrench shaped end to it fell out and he said tis was the automatic adjustor.
the shoes were completely shot and were bare metal. so he said i was lucky that the adjustor didnt jam in there and mess up the whole thing
.so he ended up putting the adjustor back replacing the shoes which ran me 68 bucks or 62
and he also replaced a drum all in all it was 256 for all of it
and even though i fell like it was a bit pricy im just glad that the truck stops in the blink of an eye now. lolapparently i was just stopping on my front pads O_o. the truck stops so well that it even feels slower now

lol yeah did the rear ones this time lol.
actually ima do the front ones since the parts wont cost me a dime just gotta get the part number from kragen lol.

my dad actually just got really angry at me and said i overpaid for the service done on it today
lol i dnt know if i did or not but i think for his work he charged me about 120 bucks to replace the shoes and a drum and now thinking about ti it does seem pretty steep?

you should always do easy stuff like brakes, oil changes, starters, alternators, etc. yourself....
alot of the above can be done with common hand tools.
you'll save yourself ALOT of money
and always talk to pops first, chances are he's already been there done that.... a couple of times
