Fuel pressure regulator w/ stock 22r carb?

Would it do me any good to run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on my stock 22r carburetor to help with uphill wheeling? I know the weber carbs need to be run at like 3.5 psi, but would this even work on a stock carb? Does anyone know the recommended pressure for the stock carburetor?

Thanks,
Eric

Fuel Pump

These simple mechanical pumps rarely fail. Since the pump is right near the carb, it sucks gas from the gas tank - there is no electrical pump inside the tank pumping gas to the carb. A stock mechanical fuel pump puts out ~7psi, but can be regulated to about 4psi for better offraod performance.

Well, that's a start. At least I know that if I get the regulator and it doesn't help with the stock carb then when I switch to a Weber I will definitely use it.

i want to try it with mine one day.

on steep inclines, and especially when i start getting wheel hop it seems like its running way to rich and bogs out.

hopin a rebuild kit and lower the fuel pressure will help

if your aap had a pinhole in it(what usually happens when it fails) it would run very rich, black smoke, ty mpg.
