Squaw Ridge OHV moderate difficulty, North/Centeral Cali
First off pay no attention to the date listed, its up in the air. I just put a date a long time out so members do not think it has past by already. I would like to do this sooner then later, I was thinking late summer of 2009.
hear is a map of the trail it is about 6 miles.

here are some pics and a review of the trail its self.

I have not been out there before and i do not know if a stock yota can do it but from what i have read and seen it dose seem passable, let me know what you all think.

I am down for camping, i always use my camp when im out in the mountain. ill have to look into the other two trails as i do not know much about them and im trying to gain experience.
It looks to me those trails are listed as difficult and that is to much for me at the moment but you be able to get some other YTer's to join you. Im still working on getting armor as i have none at this time.
the time frame i was thinking about was around early September

I've also just about ran them all in that area. Deer Valley requires a moderately built rig. Deervalley, slickrock, and strawberry are all good trails in that area. The Norcal TTORA page has some good Norcal trail info.

Strawberry is a good one but rigs w/o lockers and/or high clearance will need to be dragged through at least one spot. I dragged three Toys thru there near the end of last season w/o damaging them
Last year our club adopted Long Canyon Trail which is right next to Strawberry. I guarantee y'all would like that one. here are some photos of that trip.

Well pottery u may not need everything but if ur gonna commit that rig to an off roader might as well get started. I think I have almost all the rocovery gear a person would need so no hurry on that stuff

you do have a lot of recovery and armor, john, but one thing i did notice is that none of us had any recovery points on the rear of our rigs except troy. never know when you'll need that one. my truck is pretty much a wheeling/camping/hauling rig now, but i don't want to go and beat her to hell, so all those things are definitely gonna happen sometime or another, especially since they've just upped my hours at work to 75% (yay, more toys!).
if we can, i'd also like to hit up a lot of those trails listed on TTORA that are 4-6 rated sometime this summer since they're all pretty close to one another and to sac-area. waiting till september is just too long. like john said, we should plan one for each month, june, july, aug., and sept. there are a LOT of yt'ers that are in the foothills/sac area, so hopefully a lot of them will be up to goin' out and having some fun in the sierras. and if not, i'm even down for quick trips over to prairie city or something and farting around for the day.

As for trails we will also have the highlakes trail ready for use here in a few weeks as well. I am willing to travel down there to the sac area but have to do so sparingly.
my next buy will be an off-road GPS with data save points. i figure if i cpl that with images it will be a great way to "tell a story" of the trip i go on.

hey fairy i say we stick to your original run for sept. I really do not want to try to plan a trip based on an area i know nothing about. those trips thats the ttora have listed seem like great trails and i like there rating system (by far the best i have seen yet) i think since Brian thought to look into the ttora it be only fitting that he pick the date and run for that area as well as gaining as much knowledge as possible for it. i thing a nice small weekend run in august would be nice but make sure it is near a creek as it will be hotter than hell. a nice 5 or 6 would be fun by the sound of it.

no prob. i'll figure out which of those seems like it would be worthwhile and possibly which ones are in close proximity to one another. i won't be able to do any wheeling this month after looking at the calendar yesterday...didn't know they made "calendar novels" hehe. but anyways, i've been wanting to go on some of those trails for a while now and finally might be able to it.
