just got back from a little run up to the highlakes. it was pretty tight. i went up with a heep and of all things it got a flat. i think they were done anyways but i can't wait to go back. fairy you would have enjoyed this one a lot.
looking forward to the squaw trip now.

 

 

that sucks regarding your tire, john. they looked pretty good when i saw them. guess now you've got an excuse to go bigger. this the first time you've taken the top of the 4runner?

just got back from road tripping to colorado in the cruiser and i was hoping to find an upcoming run scheduled....guess we'll have to make one happen sooner or later.

i DID make it a point to get off the pavement...was looking for a spot to take some good pics of Breckenridge, where we went to a wedding, and found a nice trail that went to the very top of Baldy Mountain so we could take a nice 360* photo of the area. the air was pretty thin up there at around 12,000 feet.

 

nah it was my buddy in the jeep that lost the tire. once back in cam we ound 7 pin hole leaks. the tires were pretty messed up.
the soonest run i know of is the squaw run but any time othe then the 4th and 17th i am willing to make another highlakes run. it was a lot of fun to the spot we went and plenty of camp areas. holler if you wanna come up. your get ur cb yet?
oh yeah it is the first time with the top off and i am loving it except for the fear of being ripped off. also in lower altatudes it gets hot during the day. kinda miss the ac, kinda

hell i aint worked a real day in 5 months besides some side work here and there. I am so tempted to take this job in oklahoma it sucks. just havin issues with the being away from my girls for that long. plus the issue of not having a job when this one is done. the hire company is out of another state so it would screw me for unemployment after.

last time i went out camping i was having some bad smoking problems out my pipe. thought i over heated and blew the HG, turns out it must have been to much oil and was blowing past the piston rings. any way lets see the hands for who all is still wanting to go.

 

i'm down for some wheeling and sure there are others, too. are you wanting to do a day trip, overnight thing, or multi night/trail trip? i think that will be a determining factor for some.

hopefully YOUR truck is running good enough to make it, hehe. any idea of when this will happen? i need to do some work on my truck before i take it out. gotta rig up something to fix my exhaust leak, i need to work on my front wheel bearings, think i'm gonna throw down on a cb radio finally.

i'm still rockin' the 31s, but i haven't been driving the truck much this summer - that's what the SV is for . got myself another set of rims but can't decide on tires. anyone got a friend with a hookup? the craigslist Adventuro M/Ts look tempting for $450/set, but so do the $150 KM2s from onlinetires.com. i sure wish money grew on trees, cuz i'd plant a forest.

 

the trip is set for the 12 and the 13 of September. im still not sure where to meet. IM sending a pm to john to see if he is still interested. My bro is coming with his stock runner and he is trying to bring a friend. Shaggy will not be able to film this time due to his cam dose not work any more.

 

PM returned fairy, I hate to straddle the fence here but gotta see whats happenin first. If I go, I am more prepared than our last trip but i may bring the BIG tent. you all do realize that this is labor day weekend so most have a 3 day weekend. The 2 day is all i could do anyways cause the wife and kido return from florida that monday and i have to pick them up.... fun fun i will let you know with in a few days

highonpottery sent me a PM stating that he would not be able to make it on the 12th due to family plans. He wanted to know if i was interested in trying another trail on Sunday the 13th known as Strawberry pass. http://www.4x4trailmaps.com/Maps/Sta...ass_Trail.html here are some pics. http://www.4x4trailmaps.com/Maps/Sta...ctflash=false& the stawberry pass is 12 miles from squaw ridge and easy to get to from the south. there are two difficult obstacles on the north part of the trail, so we may have to turn around and go back to avoid body damage but im sure it would still be fun to see how far we can go.

 

Strawberry sounds interesting. Might be fun. I would probably miss Saturday but may be able to come down on Sunday. Things r getting tight and I am waitin on money from the atate so u all know how that is

 

ya believe me i know how tight money is right now. well if you ( john) and highonpottery decide to make it on sun day we will have to come up with a meeting spot at a certain time. we could meet a silver lake it is right off hwy 88 and is on the way to strawberry but you two will have to decide on a time.
