real nasty yellow substance on connectors in diag box

i opened up my diag box to check for codes today, and in every connector there is this yellow nasty stuff, kind of slimy... maybe flux or something, but i dunno what it is. ive opened it once, and it was there, but i didnt think to find out what it was. now id like to know. anyone?

Dielectric grease. It keeps the contacts from rusting and is non conductive so it won't short
