I recently started the rebuild of my 85 Toy. I was looking to upgrade the bench seats to a set of buckets. Does anyone know what seats fit? Thanks.

 

84-88 truck & 84-89 4Runner buckets will be a direct bolt in.
early 90's Acura Integra and Civic seats are pretty close, need to drill floor and make some brackets with a vise and BFH

 

I run 80's civic seats, had to flatten the rear tabs and extend them a couple inches to bolt them to the stock holes, comfy but the drivers foam on mine is pretty sacked out now so I'm on the hunt for new seats.

Eclipse seats are supposed to be pretty close, 90's Celica stuff too.

The next set of seats I get I'm just going to head to the junk yard with a tape measure and find some I like. The SR5 seats are supposed to be really nice too. I'd almost like to put a 60-40 split bench out of an 89-95 truck in mine though. Comfy, seats 3 up front instead of cramming someone behind the front buckets and it's gotta be nicer than sleeping on the buckets I have now.

 

The seats in my 84 SR5 pickup are super comfy, better than my step mom's newer Accord

 

Also have lumbar adjustment correct? I almost snagged a set at the junk yard one day but the drivers was worn through, and turns out that yard is way spendy (Rollins/R&R Auto Wrecking in Spanaway) so It would have been a waste of time to pull them anyway.

 

Thanks for the info. I just bought a set of 87 Corolla GTS seats for $40 off one of my friends. The front holes match up but the rears are a little short. What would be the best/safest way to mount them. I agree, the 60/40 bench seats are the best of both worlds. Adjusts like a bucket but carries 3 like a bench. I would get one if I could find one (been searching craigslist).

 

I would suggest using Grade 8 hardware. If you drill for mounts on the floor be sure to check the floor underneath so you don't hit any lines or anything on the other side. Also use some large washers (fender type) to spread the load.

 

I'll be picking up an '85 4Runner that I'll slowly be fixing up and I plan on going with Corbeau seats.
Granted they're pretty pricey but you can't beat the comfort and the looks.

They make both buckets and benches.

I was going to do the same thing 4x4fink! I ran corbeau seats in my 68 chevelle oh mannn hey are comfy with some nice 3 point restraints...

 

Sorry, but the 84-89 4runner seats are slightly different, well, the passenger seat is. The 2 door 4runners had a slide forward feature so that people could easily get into the back seat, and thus the mounting is slightly different. Not a direct bolt-in, but close (3 of the 4 holes will line up in an 84-88 pickup). It's also worth mentioning these passenger seats do NOT have the option of different fore and aft positions, all that's adjustable is the angle of the back rest due to the sliding feature.

 

I picked up a set of 04 xj seats and just drilled new holes for the bolts in the floor boards. Used some stall mats to level the seat mounts out and to give it a smoother ride.

 

interesting...when I installed a set of 4Runner buckets in my old '84 X-cab I don't remember having to drill...but it was a long time ago

i had a set of ford astro van seats in my 85. i pulled them out and put a bench seat out of a 84 yota 4x2 auto in my truck. the bench mounts in perfect but i had to notch out the foam so i can use my T-Case shifter and cant move the seat all the way foward due to the shifter. But hey atleast my girls and my wife can ride with me now

 

I am a newbie to the Yota world but I got a sweet rig. It came with leather buckets from a Mazda Miata. Sorry I can't say if they were a direct bolt in, but I do know they are comfy and hug your sides.

 

right now I have stock seats but the drivers is getting worn out. I'm saving up for a set of mastercraft baja series seats. super comfortable and fully adjustable. Unfortunately the coloring and everything that I want is going to cost me around $600 a seat.
