Wierd oil pressure

So, i just went up to my grandparents, Whe i pulled into my apartment i stopped at the entrance to grab the mail, when i got back in i noticed the oil pressure was at the first mark, right up from low. I got the truck when it was still cold here, but now we are at 97 degrees, 103 for next weekend. When it was cold she would idle about 750-800rpm's, and still does when the a/c is off. Once the a/c is on she idles at about 500 rpm's. Isnt there a valve on the throttle linkage that adjusts the idle according to a/c on or off? Its kinda worrying me. Also, according to maintenance records it has always had 10W-30 and a filter change between 2600 and 2800 miles. Also, while driving, if i am cruising between 1500 and 2200rpm's it sits about halfway on the gauge, when accelerating it goes to about 3/4 on the gauge and drops to half when i shift. Any ideas?

Those are very normal oil pressure readings for the 3.0. If you take it on a longer drive in warm weather, the reading will go gradually down to the 1/4 mark and stay there. Search this forum and you'll find good discussions on this, as all of us seem to get the same readings.

I'm not sure about the A/C idle issue. I don't recall my idle dropping off much.

My 3.0 shows around 3/4 on the gauge when cold & about 1/4 when hot at an idle. While driving at 2500 rpm's it's usually 1/2.

This is on a perfect running engine with 150,xxx miles on it.

It seems normal to me.

The air conditioner idle-up is an electrically operated valve that connects a vacuum line from the air cleaner to a port on the plenum. (The power-steering idle up is connected to the same line and port, and works with a pressure-sensor on the pump.) When operated, it lets air into the intake around the throttle valve, increasing the idle.

While there are plenty of things that can go wrong with that setup, one easy-to-check possibility is that gunk in the plenum has stopped up the port on the plenum. If you pull the line from the plenum, there should be vacuum (and idle-up). If not, the port may be plugged.

mine actually dits lower than the first mark when idling...
i did a search a while ago because i was concerned, but it seems that there are a LOT of other people with this "problem"... turns out its pretty common, so i just chalk it up to another one of the 3.0's hyjinks...

The idle up valve for the A/C is located on the fender on the pax side of the engine. It is a black plastic hex-head bolt with a flathead screwdriver slot. Adjust it to idle up to @1000 rpm when the A/C kicks on.
