Tailgate swap...... regular to tire carrier !!!!!

Hi,
My tailgate on my 94 4runner has a giant dent in it. It is the normal bare tailgate with the license plate in center and the spare mounted under neath.
I found a same colored tailgate that literally looks like new (black) from a 1991, but it is the type that had the tire carrier mounted on it. The tire carrier is gone, I am cool with the boltholes but since the license plate is mounted off center, will it look odd to have the plate off center?. I also noticed that there is no light for the plate, I would have to drill a hole, run a wire inside to switched hot and rig up a light. Anybody do this yet? Got some pics or suggestions?

Does the tailgate with the tire carrier have the big indentation in the center for the lisence plate assembly like the non tire carrier one.
I know the lisence plate on the tailgate with the tire carrier goes on the tire carrier.. but just curious.
do you have pics.
I hope that makes sense.

What I am really trying to say is can you add one of these to the center of the gate.

It does have the indentation, but no holes for wires and stuff like the other one. There are four bolts mounted off center that I could use to mount the plate. But the plate wouldnt be centered. I thought it looked kind of goofy to start with, but its setting in my living room on two buckets and is growing on me. My mom thought it was a new coffee table. I don't have any pictures yet.

I was wondering if anyone had already done it?
