1st Gen Best of both worlds

No Hannah Montana pun intended.....

For those who question the 1st gen 4Runner "pickup truck" capabilities

small scrap run, 525lbs compared to my 1500lbs+ usuall

Had to use my 4runner b/c my dad's 1500 Ram is kissing the tranny goodbye

I got alot of looks today, and questions from the guys at the scrap yard about what it was. One guy though I blew out the back window then noticed there was no back of the "cab". Haha I love my 1st Gen.

Also was my first "load" with the 63's, and I love um even more now!

Side note, 1st time I took the rollbar pad off and the roll bar out.....seems the PO cut it in half and duct taped it together

That went for scrap too as I have 2 more

Anyone else haul loads with there 1st gen? Post up some pic's of using your 4Runner as it was intended!

I haul my motorbike in the back of my runner, kinda sucks because the handle bars are over the cab and it makes a very annoying whistle sound.

oh well that's a heck of a thing to turn into a crumple zone

good job on the face-palm Abe, that deserved it

maybe I need to sawzall my steering wheel in half and designate it a crumple zone, so in case I get in a head on collision, my face will go THROUGH the steering wheel instead of smashing against it...

there's not duct tape on your steering wheel, is there?

Na, the only duct tape on my rig is in the door panels holding the plastic on

lol, ok

I get a little worried sometimes seeing duct-tape on vehicles...

but have you ever seen the trick of making a make-shift serpintine belt out of duct-tape! in a bind, you can supposedly make a couple loops through the belt routing, and it's suppose to work, if only for 5-10 miles; never tried it for myself though

I really need a 1st gen just to trip people out. Not a 1st gen, bt I filled my Taco bed with gravel untill it was only about 4in from the top. Scary.

I braided some ductape together and made a belt outta a few bungie cords and it got me five miles home! Had to stop a couple times tho..

Scrap? Wood? Gravel??? Dirt Bikes?????

I don't know what you guys think a 1st gen runner is supposed to be used for but I use mine to haul semi nude college girls.

Of course I have to find them first, and convince them that a roofiecola is actually a drink...... and pray the wife doesn't find out.
