2000 ish 4Runner cluster help please .

I'm wondering what the function of this is ?

on the top right side of the "cluster" there is a white "fuel door" marking with an arrow (right by the fuel symbol) ... checking the back of the cluster there is no visable bulb , so i'm not sure what this does ... I figured there was a switch that "light-up" when the fuel door was left open ...

can some please shed some "light" on this subject for me please ?

It's not an idiot light. It tells you what side your fuel door is on!

there is no bulb that goes back there. Its just a reminder for where your fuel door is on the truck. My Dodge has the same thing.

Lot's of cars have them--it's a real plus with rental cars. Here in NJ with no self-serve, some pump jockeys can get truly snarky when you pull up on the wrong side. In the self-serve world, saves pulling up and realizing you have to drive around. Fortunately, I don't forget which side my own car is on.

Now you're gonna have to move your gas tank and fuel door. Might as well add some airbags while your at it.
