Where should I buy a 250 lb torque wrench?

I'm changing my timing belt in the next 2 weeks and wanting to know where most of y' all purchased a 250 lb torque wrench. I have a Craftsman, but it only goes up too 150 lbs..I want to get a good one, but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for one.
Thanks, Frank

Good luck with that. I don't think I'd be able to lift a 250lb wrench.

Craftsman makes a 250FT/LB torque wrench. It is 1/2" drive digitorque PN 44597 $99 on the web site.

i would go with a cratsman since you probably won't need it very often

just remember to set your torque wrench back to zero when you are done with it

I got a very nice used Snap-on off E-Bay. They come up pretty regularly, and it's much nicer than my old Sears. You also DON'T have to set it to zero.

Look for a TQFR250--it's the 'Classic' model and there are a lot out there.

I got mine at Home Depot, around $75 IIRC.

that style that he is talking about doesn't have to be set back to zero. I just bought another one like that to finally replace the POS craftsman one i have. My matco dealer gets them from the company that makes them for snap on a about 2/3rds the price. I'll have to look at the companies name again, maybe someone else can benefit from the info.

I have been looking into the new Gearwrench electronic torque wrench. I have read lots of good review about it. Only problem is it cost about $200. Time to start saving.
