i'm looking into a 1990 4Runner 2GEN V6 3.0l SUV Auto trans, however the motor needs a low end rebuild, full rebuild or a new seal/con rod, the guy is not sure. he say it sound like it's running on two cylinders. i know people say the 3l motor sucks, i was thinking of getting a 2.7l/3.4l at pick and pull.(or some other motor.)

so on to the questions. i dislike auto trans can i change it out to a manual?(when the auto is dead, the trans is good might as well use it.)
is there any other problems with is sires 4runner? what parts/area rust the most beside the left front and right rear?

the main reseson i'm after the suv is i need a truck with the space of a van.
