Evans Creek

Plumbrbob & Dirtmaster80 are headed up to Evans Creek ORV

Looking for more to join the fun!

Be advised that the trails we will be experiencing will be of a difficult nature and will require lockers, aggressive tires, and sheet metal damage should be expected but not guaranteed.

plumbrbob and dirtmaster80s' trucks are locked front & rear, 35"+ aggressive tires, winches, & are armored.

The date of this adventure is to be on Saturday 2/28/09

The exact time is to be determined by everyone involved.

The place of meeting could be at the Chevron or in the upper parking lot.

what to expect

Most of the trails we will be doing, I have done before with solid axel rigs on 31" swampers and rear lockers or limited slips. We made it through with little to no damage, that's in the summer. There is snow and ice on the ground now. So were expecting it to be much more difficult. We would like people to join us I just dont want anybody to get in over thier heads. Were more than willing to help everybody get through but if dents scare you this mite not be the run for you.

We ran the 311 from parking lot then the lower Y to camp ground no issues yesterday the 21st. Snows melting but that could change by next week. Ya'll have fun. I've run all the trails @ evens with IFS on 33's locked F/R, geared difs and t-case.
Devil Driveway is the roughest trail and I think its an illegal one too as its not on the maps or numbered.

Right on muddpigg!

I ran 311 friday the 20th and it was clear for the most part no problems. Did you run just the 311 or did you get to run 198,102,519,520 and others as well?

Too bad you cant come saturday maybe next time give me a shout when your headed up.

We got up there late were flying solo and looking for sledding too, so didn't hit many other trails. The FS (don't have a map handy) that takes you up to the top 520 was still inpassible but that is the shady side of the mountain plus higher elevation. Wound up chill'n by a fire eating raviolli

The basin that the 198 lets out to was about snow free, it's one of our favorite sledding spots, shh lets keep that a secret. The bottom of the 520 across from the campground access was partly covered in snow, by partly I mean 1/2, one side of trail was water/slush. Was much more snow last year at this time.

Would've if I'd known you'd run with us, but we wheeled solo up there many many times. It'll be awhile before I'm back here to wheel, but as with anything in the Army don't beleive it till it happens and some time there is no ryhme nor reason. Who knows what the future holds. But if all goes well I'll still have assess to YT.

Right on! Alranger! WAHOO!

Looks like its stacking up to be a great day.

I am waiting on a CL dude on some 36" TSL's on 6 lugs 90% if he comes through then you can borrow my set of KM's. Unless of course you want to buy them but I figured you might want to save up for swampers too.

Vital22re come on up if you want you can give the trails a go. I'll yank on ya out of whatever you get into.

Hmmm so if vital22re shows doees this make it a NW toyotas group expedition?

snow

If you can check out the conditions on friday that would be great. I dont mind some snow but be wont be able to do any of the trails if theres a couple feet of snow. Maybe we need to figure out an alternate place to go.

I can take a look see if evans gets buried to much....What would the alternative be?

Elbe might be clear it seems a little lower
Reiter is a 2 hour roaad trip for me and might get too much snow too.

What say you?

This is late in the snow year so really packed. Even several feet ain't too bad with the rigs ya'll got. The lower 311 is fun in the deep snow, especially if your the first to cross the deep iced over puddles in morning, and the 311 from enterance to camp ground is good fun going up and if to much for going up the go from camp ground down. Take stuff to make it enjoyable: Coleman stove for coffee and hot chocolate or gluevine (SP?). I was lazy when leaving last Sat and aired up at camp site but difference and not for the better. But prior to that 8psi awesome. Hope ya'll can run it and please!!!!! post pics, I'll need my fix.

I've run Evans the last two winters on 33"s, just take it slow and constant.

Thanks for the words of encouragement muddpig. We are sure to make it to some where on saturday we are too pumped and prepared to turn back now. I am worried about the other less built rigs and all the towing and winching I for see.

But your right everyone can run 311. I'll be there no matter what and will post up those pics to feed you wheeling fix.

That is a good suggestion and we might be going that way if Evans is in 3 feet of snow
