I just installed a new coil over system on my 02 4runner sport. I also put a new k n N intake on. Now I have a check engine light on, my trac off light on and a vsc off light on....What are these and why are they on?????

hmmm... Lights on in the instrument cluster = 1st step... pull codes... everytime.
I don't understand why people are reluctant to get the codes pulled before asking for help. We can't help without the codes.

Thanks, and I posted in hopes to just get someone that may have had the same problem. I finished work @ 930 last night, and I don't have a computer to get codes. Plus I'm not aware of too many shops open that late that would want to help me... I have double checked all connections with Intake, nothing is loose. I brought down the lift slightly from 2" to 1.75". Also, doing some research, I found that if the check engine light comes on, the computer will automatically shut off TRAC Control and VSC TRAC. I am sure it is due to more O2 coming in to the motor from the intake. Any other suggestions will be helpful and I will get some codes today

Yup, I got the same problem. I thought for sure it was that I broke my ABS wire, did a quick diagnostic check at my buddies shop and it showed the rear speed censor was the culprit but I have you to get any farther into it. Let me guess, you don't ABS anymore either?

Any autozone will pull your codes for free.
Could possibly be from the K$N. Did you over oil it? Could have clogged up the MAF.
More o2 in the intake wouldnt set off the check engine light. It would simply tell the computer to give it more fuel to get the correct mixture.
If it was the ABS, your ABS light would be on.

I had the same issue with the lights and ended up being a code for the rear O2 sensor. You can disco the battery for 5 minutes or so then reconnect it. If you still gets the light ans same code as I did I purchased an O2 simulator from URD to tell my ECU that the O2 was emitting the correct #'s. (the o2 sensors can and will trip your VSC in order for you to go to the dealer)

awesome guys thanks for everything. I got the code erased, i may have had my battery connected when I plugged in my O2 sensor. Got the rear spacers in today but may need 1 more inch with new coils, not sure

The lift is Downey Off-Road 0-3 1/2" coil over. I brought it down about an inch and added 1 1/2" Daystar spacer in the rear. I just put on 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers with American Eagle Wheels style 140 in black... xc no i'm not aaron.
