anyone with trail gear sas kit...which rear lift do you recomend??

anyone with trail gear sas kit...which rear lift do you recomend??

Im going to go with a trail gear ifs eliminator kit. Im doing the three inch lift which really means 4 with the shackles. Im wondering then which rear lift should I go with?? trail gear rep pretty much said "it depends"...says the three inch rear might be a little lower than the front, and the 4 inch would probably end up a little higher, but I got the feeling he wasnt really sure.

Has anyone done the trail gear sas and matched with trail gear rear lift that they might have some pics or knowledge on?

3". the front will settle more than the rear

thanks, that makes sense.

did you need all 5 inches of lift to get the 35's under there, im only going 33 or 34, but maybe one day...

With the suspension fully flexed and stuffed I just start rubbing the rear quarters. I also have a 1" body lift. No touching on the front stuffed/lock to lock.

I would just go wit the 5" now if there is a possibility of "one day". Build it the way you want it the first time.

So mine went down like this. On a 4Runner not a truck so YMMV.
TG 4" front kit
TG 5" rear kit

In addition to the 1" larger rear kit, Steve fabbed up these 2 inch blocks to mount the shackle hangers on to start with.


Then it looked like this immediately after the lift.


After 2 weeks it looked like this.


So we swapped out the 5" shackle plates that came with the kit for 6" plates to make it look like this.


That last pic with it a little rearend high is before any settling if there is any and with no gear in the truck and no 35" spare that still needs to be loaded. Mine with 4" front 5"rear with 35 12.5's and over a year but it is a 22re motor not sure how much lighter it is then a v6 or if it makes that much of a difference in the front.

4Runners and PickUps are different creatures and cannot be treated the same.

Typically 4Runners need 1" higher total lift in the rear, 4" in front, 5" in rear.

PickUps you run them straight up, 4" in front, 4" in rear.

Thus ends today's lesson.

i have 4in front and 5in rear but run a topper and rear tire carrier.

Those pictures are pretty subjective without measurements before and after.

Yes, the springs will settle to where they will sit after about a month of daily driving or one wheeling trip.
