84 toy starts but dies

On my 84 toy i just put new gasket set in it but the engine doesn't want to stay running even after timing I think there maybe a vacum leak somewhere any ideas

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me, double check everything.

will it stay running if you give it gas? if so take a can of starting fluid and with it running spray around the gaskets... base gasket for carb, intake manifold, all your vac hoses and if the rpm changes or it dies thats where the leak is. simple but that wont work if it wont stay running for very long.

Thanks I will try that. I do think it is a vacuum leak but I wasn't sure of the best way to check for one that would not take me a thousand years to find it.

I think i may have a broken water pump but im not sure does anyone have any pictures or can describe what it looks like if its broken
