why do i see a lot of toyota 4runners sagging?

im looking to buy a toyota 4runner between teh years of 1990-1995, however, when i see some, either for sale or on the road, somtimes the rear ends sag a bit? why is this? is the rear suspension weak?

Combination of things I suppose. Main thing is the factory put on soft spring in the back for the nice cushy ride that most folks prefer. That and 15-20 years of the heavy vehicle on the rear springs and the springs start to sag as all springs will.

x2 listen to 4crawler: he da man! Easy enough fix with many solutions (search around here). Fixing the rear sag is a simple problem for a rig that will serve you well!

Well being serious here, Just get some new coil springs with a stiffer spring rate, Or just some coil spacers...

The OP was referring to 90-95 4Runners, therefore no leafs.

As scuba said, get some new coils (don't bother with spacers) and its fixed.
Now either post this crap in newb tech or start searching.

didnt the 90 runners come with leafs..? They were switched right in 91...IIRC

I coulda swore I remember reading somewhere the early 1990 runners had leafs.

Unless there is some anomaly out there, or was swapped out during a SAS or etc., I have never heard of one.
