It'll look fine, prolly stick out about .75-1" I run 33x12.50's with that backspace on an 8" rim and it looks killer.

most people running this aftermarket spec wheel are running tires larger than a 31. I'd suggest you simply look at pics of people running 33x12.5 tires and imagine a narrower tire on them. they're all going to stick out further than stock - 1" further out because of the 3.75" backspacing (vs 4.75") and at least another 1/2" out from the 8" (vs 7") width.

why do you want a 15x7 with 3.75" BS?

I want a slightly wider than stock look but don't plan on ever running larger than a 10.5 tire. At least in the near future.

I currently have 235s on 15x6 in. stock steelies and have a bit of life left in the tires as well. I was thinking of getting the wheels first, then go to 31x10.5s when I need tires.

This will be a daily driver for me for a while. I'm at stock height and figure if I ever spring for a lift, regear, and wider tires, I'll go with wider wheels then.

15x7's with 31's I have no clue on the back space.

I know they fit inside the fenders of a 71 Chevy luv 2wd, a 90 Mazda 2wd, and my 91 Toy.

another thing to consider is looking for a set of stock takeoff wheels from a newer tacoma/4runner - many of them had the equivalent of 31x10.5 stock (on 16" wheel). I'm guessing you can find an inexpensive set of takeoffs, then sell your current tires if they still have meat on them. it's another option to think about.

I think I'm sold on 15x8s. As long as my 235s will fit, which I think they will.
