What is the average cost of a 3.4L Toyota swap in a 2nd Gen 4Runner. I would like to see both prices if I did the swap and if a shop did dies it. Please any info will help

I got my rolled 2000 trd dc from a friend s/ced 3.4 full harness & ecu with the U.R.D.7th injector piggy back and red 2.0 pulley for 3,000 with 51,000 on the motor and 10 on the sc set up then I got a set of headers for it used but not ever hooked up for $225.

I am sure if you look around you can get everything cheaper but I know this truck and owner so I payed the insurance buy back and got the whole truck complete and have even thought about just getting a cab and replacing it ending up with a a nice new truck

If you have to pay someone else to do it, you may as well write off the idea, or invest in a 55 gallon drum of Vaseline!

The ONLY way this is even close to cost effective is to do it yourself. Also, if you are going to do it, I would plan on running the truck until the wheels fall off, because, chances are, that come time to sell, the engine change will diminish the value (never mind that it is a WAY better set up!)

True about the loss value to the lay person , but anyone that knows Toyota will factor in a few more bucks because of the swap but don't expect to get what you got into it out of it should you sell it.
