Cool 7m's swapped & sas' d 87 extended cab

hi guy's,

my name is james, i just purchased my first 4x4 toyota.

it's a 87 extended cab pickup.

ifs, g52 tranny, bench seat&5spd.

i'll have to check the plate for gear ratio, but im sure some of you might know weather it's 4.1 or 4.3 lol im hoping for the 4.1 gear's.

well i bought this truck, when i wasn't looking for a truck for my self, my friend was getting some insurance money and he was on his second truck, when i got the idea we might find a parts truck to fix his first truck, which needs a cab.

i stumbled onto a add on cl, and e-mailed left my number,

a few days later while looking for more rig's, i was told there was an e-mail about a truck and when i checked it i learned that i left our contact number's incomplete...

the truck is missing it's carb'ed 22r, but every thing else is here. has power steering, but no a/c :-(

My Mission,

make a play toy that is reliable enough to use to go to work if my DD breaks... and legal?

motor: swap in a 7mge supra motor, a 24V inline six cylinder 3.0L motor(about 200hp&ftlbs)

as for parts.

so far i have learned i need a few parts for the swap by searching, n/a supra 5spd bellhousing. supra motor, and n/a clutch assembly and flywheel.
you need a 5mge (85+) oil pan and pump, the later modle's had a bolt in the passenger side of pan so you could run a return line for turbo, or oil cooler. you will also need 5m supra engine mounts, other 5m mounts might work but front sump 7m cressida mounts i do not think will work, i have a set i'll post picture's of how they mount and the angle.

you will also need the engine harness and ecu, coil, engine bay plug's for coil power, ecu power, and injector power, along with a few other senors or motor's that could use it.

i managed to source a n'a mkiii parts car awhile back and cut 90% of the harness out of the car..

ao far this is what i have learned and this is what i have...

i have been a supra guy for the last 4 year's and built a few different car's, in both mkiii and mkii.

my latest creation is a 85 mkii supra w/ a 7mgte making 425whp 405ftlbs it has the r154 and a welded 3.73 rear end.

i have a few mkiii rear diff's that have good lsd's in them. as well as having a mkii diff with a good diff.
i read i could add a lsd to the irs via mkii supra lsd, so i will consider that done.
but i would also like a lsd for the rear.
so would the mkiii lsd work? i haven't found the "yes/no" im looking for.

i also have a aftermarket kaaz lsd for the mkiii diff that i could fall back on if my project i bought it for neverblooms...

i also dislike the bench seat, and will be attempting to install a seat of p-type supra seat's into the cab of my new truck.

any way's guy's i'll post' picture's up tomorrow when i start swaping bellhousing's..

oh, yeah i forgot to mention i have most if not all the swap parts i need to install into my truck with the new motor, only problem is, i cant remember if the motor was bhg or rodknock.... any ways cant beat free stuff.. and parts i have stock piled..

James.

well i have some pictures.

i pulled the truck over from the feild and started working on it.

i got the through out bearing installed and clipped on, i bent the origional spring so it would fit more snug and not fall off.

i still had to change over the oil pan and pump, so i got started working on that today, it's a long process when tring to clean it all up; near last minute, i remember i needed to remove the rear baffle out of the pan to clear the midsump 7m dipstick, i have made turbo modles work like this before. so i figured i should be able to figure out were 4.5.6 quarts are on the dip stick.

here i am installing a spacer into the oil pump releif so i have better start up pressure, warm/hot idle pressure.

installed the flywheel, clutch disk, anc clutch pressure plate, while matt was installing oil pan bolts by hand allowing some time for the gasket sealer to set up.

X2 <-- I have 'em. I love 'em. I got stung.

Honey Bee, not a hornet.

The only problem is, good place for would-be theives to break in. My 4Runner lives in the garage.

From: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.

That was left in there from the assembly line over in Japan, thats what the japanese have to use in order to QA the vehicle.

Welcome to YT. Seems like you have a grasp on what you're doing. Good luck.

...oh and by the way... I got two calls:
Microsoft called asking for you to change your sweatshirt's screensaver.
and
1985 called and wants its sweatshirt back.
