little help needed if you have a 4x4 truck 90-94

I have no dash indicator light for 4x4 and its not working correctly either. After reading I have found that I have no wire running to the ADD sensor on the front differential. I don't know where it should come from is my problem. Can anyone who has a truck like mine (1992 excab 4x4, V6 5speed) go out and look and tell me where the wire loom comes from, colors, etc. so i can find it on my truck?

Thanks if you can help

The ADD sensor connects to a wire coming out of the transfer case. But this wire's just for the sensor, 4wd works perfectly fine without it.

found a plug on driver side going down with oil sender wire that is not connected to anything. It is only long enohg to get to the bottom of the alternator and i cant find its home.

Anyone tell mne if this is the wire and somehow someone took of/lost a harness that should connect this to the add sensor. Plug is gray, oval, two wires, green/red and green/white

thanks in advance if you can help

I have a 93 something diesel so it may not be the same. Those colors sound right, and you don't even have to plug them in, if you just jump them and then shift the transfer case the light should come on. I disabled the ADD on mine and just jumped the two wires.

that wire you found sounds exactly like the one that hooks into the wire comin from the front diff. my lite didnt work and that is the same wire i found dangling down past the alt. and near the oil filter...then i had another wire coming from the front diff to connect to it tho...

It sounds correct, although it must be wrapped up there or something. Mine still connects with an additional 4" of suspension lift. The wiring diagram actually shows GRN/WHT and GRN/YEL for a V6, and GRN/WHT, GRN/RED for a 4 Cylinder.

Ok that was the wire for anyone searching this in the future. I first jumped it and put it in 4x4 and the dash light came on. So i then ran a pair wires to the ADD sensor and connected them to the wires in the plug I found. The dash light now works when 4x4 is engaged.

However, i stil have the problem of the hideous knocking when trying to engage the 4x4 in another thread,
