Thumbs down Rod play on all 4 cylinders

So I pulled the oil pan out tonight and found lots of coolant in there and little bit of oil. I gave the rods a shake and found all four have about maybe .010 play maybe laterally. What do you think so far? I have not gotten to the cover on the front side of the block bust looks like definately a head gasket. Everything else in the engine looks smooth.
Did I tell you all about my smashed NGK spark plug where the electrode was mashed over the end like someone hit it with a hammer.
What do you think about what I found so far and no major particles in the oil pump.
It was very rough to idle.
I would like some info on what is acceptable and what I should replace while its apart to save time and money.

make a head gasket out of cardboard, run gear oil in it, and for the spark plug take some of the heating elements our of a toaster and solder it on there should be good for another 100k maybe 105k if your torque the valve cover nuts good. j/k sounds like its time for a rebuild

Coolant in your oil: new headgasket

play on all rods: disassemble the short block, take the rods, crank, and block into a shop to get clearances measured. You may be lucky and everything can be micropolished and new bearings put in, but who knows.

Basically you need to tear the engine apart and do a full rebuild if all the rods have play. Its possible the crank journals are also scored since you have coolant in the pan.

If you try a bandaid its just going to get worse again and it'll probably happen soon.

I'd say if you want to keep the engine stock, buy a replacement engine that you know is in good working condition. Otherwise beef it up, higher compression, maybe a cam. I say this because rebuilding your 22RE will most likely be more expensive than buying a used one.

Coolant in your oil can be head gasket or timing cover failure.

Loose rods = bearing failure, possible crank damage.

Easiest fix is to find a used engine and chuck it in.

Band aid fix is to throw new rod bearings in, then repair the coolant leak and drive it till it blows again. Then change the engine.

Sounding like the full rebuild kit, including bringing the block & head to a machine shop. Can get expensive. It is cheaper to buy a used engine but like above post, you don't know what's up with the used engine. If you rebuild this one, you've got a new engine.
