Theoretically a hole saw would work I guess...but it doesn't sound like it will be fun.

Use some

yes a hole saw is a pain in the ass but it works fine..will also give you cleaner cuts for lining up the shackle tubes

A right angle drill might help

If I did it again I would use a hole saw, instead of the smoke wrench.

The best way is to hole saw the outer walls then torch the inner webbing out. Much easier that way.

I tacked my trailgear jigs .25inch frm the front of the body mount and used a torch to cut both sides(Iner and outer of each frame rail) but i had 5"HD springs w/V6.
The inner part i cut as close as i could to what i thought matched the outsides. and filed everything to perfection. its worth te time and aggravation to file evrything measure twice. tack once then measure again. no sense screwind up. it will only cost you more in the long run. measure twice
