Ive been looking around at lowes and home depot and all i found were hose clamps and ducting.

Where did you guys get your parts for this mod from?

I know there are many threads abotu this mod but im trying to find stores that carry the parts.

 

Im looking for these parts.

5" of rubber hose 3" inside diameter

1-90 degree 1/2" brass fitting , 2 washers and 1 O-ring to fit this fitting
(one end has to push a hose on the other has to have threads)

1-90 degree 7/16" brass fitting , 2 washers and 1 O-ring to fit fitting
(one end has to push a hose on the other has to have threads)

1 nut to fit the 1/2 fitting

1 nut to fit the 7/16 fitting

 

I'm having the same exact problem. i went to HD and only found the 1/2" el fitting with one barbed end and the other threaded but the threaded end was 3/4" and i thought it was going to be too big to thread into the 3" pipe.

I couldn't find a 7/16 at all but i was thinking 3/8 might fit since that would be 6/16" (just 1/16" off). anyone disagree? can we just clamp the hose onto the fitting if its too loose?

and about the hose... your auto part store should sell silicon hose in the cold air intake section(plus it comes in blue, red....)

the washers and nuts should be easy to find.

And i looks like in some of the pics that the hoses are hose clamped on to the fittings.

but the stock setup is pretty restrictive so this mod is supposed to free up the flow

alot of people say you can get a decent amount of torque for the price.

tubbyfatty, you can Google barbed or brass fittings on Google and search around on plumber warehouses.... i did not think their prices were right. the half inch brass fitting i seen was like $15 or more

 

may I suggest plastic fittings instead of brass? you can get nearly any size fitting and all you'd have to do is tap the pipe and thread the fitting(s) in. and if you're worried about sealing, a thin bead of sealant on the last few threads should seal it up.

and if you have an issue finding a 7/16 fitting, going up to 1/2 and using a 7/16 barb would be better than going down to 3/8 elle

 

Alright. Yea $15 for a fitting...

I need to find all the other stuff too, so I might just take a drive around where i live.

 

abecedarian, "tap the pipe and thread the fittings"? any more detail on that??

 

and maybe don't restrict yourself to brass: galvanized and cast iron fittings may be an option.

 

drill the hole in the pipe slightly smaller than you need and then use a 'tap' to cut threads the hole so the fitting screws in. that way you don't need a nut on the inside.

thanks i will look into other materials. is it possible to JBweld pvc to aluminum?? or at least use it as a sealant?
