PVC has a thinner wall which may contribute to less heat retained than ABS. I personally found that ABS is very differant in size due to that thickness. I think I a,m going to try and fab another one out of PVC or maybe 2 1/2" hose. and see if I notice a diff. btwn that and the exh. pipe.

I redid mine with 3" schedule 80, 45* w bell end. (local home depot in the plumbing section) I had to cut a very minimal bit of the edge of the ends to make it fit great. I saw it on another thread here. It works great! plus all I had to do was drill the fitting holes about 1/16 smaller than the fitting and the tap themselves right in.
I got the biggest performance increase(by feel anyway) new filter, removed mass air sensor and cleaned it with the appropriate spray. I think if you have done the ISR mod your MAFS gets dirtier quicker. I noticed even better throttle response.

home depot in my area didnt have it so i got some random bent 3 inch pipe cut like a 8 inch section then stuck plumbing rubber clamps on each end. the throttle body end i left the stock pipe on and stuck the clamp on. didnt want to spend another 9 bucks on the fittings. later on i will bend some pvc and get rid of that black intake hose. its a pain in the ass to check the oil level have to pull the dipstick out at an angle

For the price of sourcing parts for the ISR mod why not just a cheap $35.00 intake kit off ebay?

$35.00 and free shipping comes with all connectors intake pipe and filter.
