The other day the mast came completely out. I got the mast and all the cord out. It is all intact ( i replaced it a year ago). There is a rubber collar that sits in the chrome nut. It appears that this collar catches the antenna going up and down and triggers the motor to stop. I am guessing that mine is worn since it allowed the antenna to keep going. I checked with toyota and they show that the chrome nut is available but they are not sure if the rubber piece comes with it. Has anyone had to replace this before?

 

The plastic piece is called the ornament and it is sold separate. For both it is like 10 bucks.

 

not the piece that sits on the fender it actually sits on the antenna. I found out it is a part of the mast. I am going to have to get a new mast. Oh well needed a new one anyways. Right after I put the new one it got caught on some low branches while camping and didn't full retract or extend.
