Holy crap, this sucks..Started about 6 hours ago and been working on it off and on since then. And, I'm only about 75% done with one side!

How long did it take you to pull these 80s decals off? Honestly, if they weren't faded and cracking a little bit, I would probably leave them on.

yea iv used a 3M brand rubber decal and stripe remover called "stripeoff" its a soft rubber almost eraser like wheel on a shaft that will fit in a 3/8 chuck drill. works great.. doesnt hurt the paint.

I wish I would have tried the wheel first, I have been using chemical remaover after peeling them with a heat gun and it is awful. Doesn't take it all off and the remaining glue is tough, tough, tough.

I will try the wheel next. Oh, and the paint over method is terrible, somebody did that to mine and I have spent hours with lacquer thinner trying to get it off..

I'm an idiot, I've used the 3m wheel before. For some reason I didn't even think about going and picking another up, lol! Guess I'm done for the night, I'll finish tomrrow after I go pick a wheel up.

Where can you buy those eraser wheels? Do auto parts stores carry them, like Napa or something?

Heat gun then try WD-40 for the glue if WD-40 doesn't do the job try Gooe-B-Gone. My wife said they make non-acetone nail polish remover that might also work, thats if you care about the paint, if not Sandblaster and Fire Ax works every time

I would take mine off, if the idiot previous owner hadn't clear coated them on there.

We use 3m Adhesive Remover at work to remove our company decals and plastic razor blades. Peels right off and then scrape the glue away. I dont think the Adhesive remover is available to the public (at least thats what the can says "Not for Household use" but Zippo or Rosenthol Lighter fluid works just the same. Pout it in a spray bottle and work small sections at a time.

DO NOT USE HEAT with these methods.
