Taking the wife camping
Well, I've convinced my wife to go on a two night camping trip this weekend. It's just going to be the two of us. Any suggestions for what to bring to make her trip better. This will be her first real camping trip, no bath house, no power, just us in the middle of the woods. She is pretty rugged, so I'm expecting good results. btw, this is for our 6th wedding anniversary.

I was thinking of just a 5 gallon bucket for her. I don't think I could pack all the stuff you seem to
Although by this time next year I plan to have a metric ton of junk to take. I think we'll just bathe in the river, it's only been about 45 here at night j/k.

I guess I'm lucky. She's very excited about it and was digging out the supplies yesterday by her self. Like I earlier stated she's pretty rugged at times, she cuts our grass just as much as I do which is .4 acres with a push mower
Hey, even if the trip goes badly, I'm still going again in two weeks with the guys.

get a french press.....they work real well...just boil some water over a fire, pour into the press...allow 4 min or so to brew...then press and pour...I have actually been thinking about making coffee exclusively with a press, it tastes much better.

It takes a few years of brainwashing. Lucky enough for me I have received a little education on it thanks to the military and my current line of work. You can actually do it in less time, but I have taken the slow approached because I didn't want her to catch on to what I was doing. It is a double edged sword though, as I have also taught how to shoot as well. I am an expert in rifle and pistol shooting and she is pretty much as good as I am, except at continued, rapid fire. I think she would gun me down before I got out of the campsite.

My GF and I love camping. We usually tent camp but sometimes go backpacking or just car camping. I think the food can make or break a camping trip. Make sure you plan out meals and have plenty of snacks.

x2 on the portable toilet and plenty of blankets to keep her warm. Those 2 are the biggest issues the women I've taken camping have had. A milk crate with a hole and seat attached makes a fine porta-potty.

I have most of the truck packed already. Air mattress, 5 bucket/porta potty, she's packing her own blankets, 2 pillows, etc. we're gonna prep some of the food at home, 1st nite/2 day lunch is onion, cabbage, potato, carrots and sausage combo mixed in one pot. I'm going to dice it at home and pack it in 1 gal ziplock bags. Eggs, bacon, sausage and bread for breakfast both days. Hot dogs and baked beans on nite 2. Left overs for the last days lunch. Plus misc. snacks. She also packs her own handgun, .38 snubby with hot loaded hollowpoints, but that's only when I can keep her hands off my 2 Glock .40's.
