ran into a snag!

Well the plan was to just replace my springs w/stock leafsprings....BUT I can't find anyone that makes stocks FRONT springs for my 1981 Pickup.... I was looking at some of the cheaper lift kits, would they be adequate for mild wheelin/hunting/work mule?

You could possible find springs at the junk yard.

What kind of cheap lifts are you looking at? Whatever you do stay away from any body lift kits or kits with blocks for lifting.

procomp at 4wheelparts.com has a cheap 3in front 1.5" rear lift kit...for less than $400..and NWOR (North West Off Road) has a 3 1/2in kit that if i remember correctly is fairly cheap..im getting a used NWOR kit for $225...comes with springs and shocks...so im gonna be happy..my '80 is gonna be runnin on 33x13.50's by the end of the year..hells to the yea!...or you can do rears up front and 63" chevies out back...heard that works REALLY well and gives about 4in lift in the front

JC Whitney carries stock height springs, I think they have both fronts and rears.
OR OME has a really nice 2" lift spring and matching shocks. A buddy of mine has them on his '83 pickup:

Dont buy cheap lift springs, they all ride really hard. Id rather have stock springs than the 4" Procomps I have now, You can clear 33x12.5's with stock springs.

thanks for the advice, as far as JC Whitney they said they don't carry the front springs....ideally I would have liked to keep stock springs but as I am unable to find any the plan kinda changed so now I'm looking for replacement springs with as little lift as possible...

I too have an 81 Pickup, and I am also trying to find spring replacements. I have heard that chevy 1500 springs fit. does anyone know if this is true? If not, I am looking for something around a 2" lift that is smooth riding, yet inexpensive. Thanks for any help!

Spring info:

The OME springs are a pretty popular 2" lift:
