Sputtering engine at high speeds. Any ideas?

My 87 yota PU stock 2wd has been acting funny lately... I drive roughly 75 miles average a day. lately after 27 to 30 miles holding at 65 to 70 mph the entire way it starts to sputter and acts like she's going to die untill the speed drops the 55 to 60 mph? My thoughts were fuel filter and maybe the fuel pump and Ideas?

Just trying to collect some second opinions... so feel free.

Timing chain slipped a tooth? Any funny sounds at idle? Check for codes before you do anything else...

i'd replace the fuel filter. Its relatively cheap and it will eliminate that from the list of what could be the problem.

well I did a couple of things after some thought. I checked my distributor. The rotor and cap were shot. The fuel filter after pulling it was horrendouly clogged. and just for good measure I did the plug re gap and wires. So after all of the replaced and refilling the gas with seafoam added ... VICTORY. Her Gas milage is back up shes running like a champ and her power at the low end is back.
