that is your catalatic converter... the thing clanking on it is one of your exhaust hangers, you need to get it welded back to the pipe. then you will be set!

No, you need to weld it (or use wire temporarily), the catalytic converter is the hottest part of the exhaust pipe, so tape will just melt in seconds.

OCD anyone?.... lol

yeah, it's a hanger. it's supposed to be welded to the pipe and help hold the converter and pipe in place.

and yeah, that was the O2 sensor

Before I replaced my exhaust system the same thing happend to me. Took me awhile to figure that out Get someone to throw a tac weld on there, exhaust shop should be able to do it for almost free. It would only take a minute...

OR get some wire or exhaust cement crap. But I would just get a weld done, it will be a permanent fix..till it rusts

is there one hanger on each side of the cat? if so, pull it off and forget about it. You could also jerry rig it with a u-bolt holding the metal bit to the pipe
