22r swap in a 79

I just swapped in a 22r in my 79. Do I have to use the 22r ignition coil and box?

Use the 79 ignitor. Then it will plug into the wiring harness. A coil wire is a coil wire so its compatable with just about everything.

you can use one from a 22re if you want to . I took one from a toyota celica the conecters did not work, all i had to do was shave the sides with a knife and it worked great.
