Okay I have the donor truck home and.........
A few questions here.
The truck I purchased has the following items that mine does not. Air conditioning, cruise control, and auto hubs. As for the AC and cruise can I just disconect and not worry about. Oh I guess it would be helpful to refresh the project eh.
I have a 90 truck 3vze with baaad motor and 365 thousand on the whole rig. I bought a 94 with baaaad body and only 160 thousand on the whole rig. I am just swapping the good body over to the lower milage and good motor and all the rest of the stuff. So back to the questions can I just disconect the unwanted items and be fine? I would also like to keep the wiring harness that is in the 94 connected to the motoe you know the one that runs the injectors and all that fun stuff. Is there somewhere I can disconnect it and then plug it back into my truck body???????
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have gotten that reply alot but my thinking is...... Why not get the bennefit of only having the 160,000 miles on EVERYTHING and not just the motor. And actually the body swap is not going to bad. If you think it all the way through there is very little extra teardown involved for the body swap. So in actuality the entire truck except the body will have only 165K on it not 325K. And trust me by the looks of things THEY WERE HARD I MEAN HARD 325K
So do you know if I can just leave those item out and be okay?????

Anthony:::::: YOU KNOW WHAT??? I will be taking pics as soon as I find a store in this town that sells my batteries. (son lost it at camp) I wish I had it though because my back yard is ridiculous right now. what do you think of the swap idea? any suggestions on the AC and Cruise?

Manual hubs - you can swap them over to your new rig, VERY easy.
A/C - Again you can make it work, pretty easy.
Cruise - yet again, this can be made to work, but if you dont want it, just dont hook it up.

. and ultra i'd give you advise but i really dont know about it. download the manual off the sticky up top and see if you need any of the a/c switches or cruise hooked up electrically. sorry i wish i could help. i'll look on mitchell on demand tomorrow at work for ya

Jay thanks. I would love a link or somekind of direction on these mods as I will be tearing into the new truck in the AM. But what I would like the most is to know if I can keep the wiring harness on the new motor and disconnect it somehow and transplant it into my trucks body. And if so HOWWWWWW???

Im not too sure on the wiring. Im pretty sure they changed as the years went by. Don't quote me on that, im not sure. Hopfally someone will a little more insight to the matter will chime in.
I will see what I can do about getting some in depth pages about the conversions. But searching might help, though the search function kinda sucks!
what I can say is, imo I would transplant the interior of the new truck (well used) into the cab you are swaping over. I would keep the seats, carpet, side panels and whatnot, but use the incab wiring harness from the new truck. That way you can use the new guage cluster without issue, and the ac and cruise (you will need to use the proper steering wheel) will be all hooked up correctly.

I COULD ONLY WISH TO GET THAT LUCKY. once you see the pics (if I find a battery you will lyao. The entire interior is BAAAAAD the steering wheel however is there. A little moldy but there. NO my interior and dash is going back in for now. Wife will shoot me if I buy a third rig for this simple friggin deal. Good news on the deal though. EXTRA PARTS unless i get silly and start selling stuff. The whole reason on the wiring harness deal is that mine is kinda scarry. all old and cracking in places. you know 325K will do that to the ol girl. I agree about the search thing though. I am trying.

Check the connects for the wiring harness at the ECU on both trucks and check all the connectors that go to the motor on both. If its all the same you don't have to worry about breaking the 325k wiring because you have to 160k to replace it.
If neither one is looking good on the motor still check the ECU. The connectors there maybe interchangable. Find your ECU (its usually in the passenger kick panel) and trace the wires back to the hole in the fire wall. Easy.

You can eliminate the A/C and cruise, but I would keep it. Yes, it will mean a little more work, but it will be worth it.
IMHO, you should pick a thread and update it as your "build thread". It will eliminate some of the redundant questions and serve as a better reference for someone in the future. Starting a new thread for each new challenge on the project will just make a disjointed, hard to follow narrative that noone will be able to follow easily. Just my $0.02.
