Seats for 85 Toyota's

Does anyone know what seats will fit a 1985 yota? mine are shot and the runners are also gone or I would just re-build them.

Truck or 4Runner? Bench or bucket?

I know that the bucket seats in 4Runners are are all interchangable from 1984 through 1989 and I also know that these seats will bolt straight into any truck from the same years, even if the truck came with bench seats.

It is my understanding that 1990 through 1995 4Runner bucket seats (and maybe truck seats?) will bolt into a 1984 through 1989 4Runner but you might have to drill out one or two of the holes in the bracket to get it to bolt up.

Search under seats and you will find quite a bit of info on this subject.

2nd generation 4runner seats will bolt right in, IIRC.

I have 95 civic seats in my extended cab. 3 bolts line right up and the 4th does with just some minor tweaking and drilling. They are comfy seats that actually give you a little bit more room in the cab.

I've got the same problem with my 85 SR5. My buckets are shot. I'd like to reupholster the stock seats.

Is it cheaper to find replacements?

What do yall think about these?

I found them here for $132 for the pair. I was kind of suspect of the price, but they lever forward which I was looking for. Not looking to spend big $$$ on my project.

they would be sufficient, but you get what you pay for...as always. I am probably going to get something very similar.

you can pretty much fit ANY seat in there if you can fab brackets or know someone who can. imo my stock 84 sr5 xtra cab buckets are some of the comfiest seats ive been in. i just drove 16 hours straight in my 84 and had no problem with the comfort

With some drilling. Bench seats utilize two sliding brackets like a bucket, but it takes TWO buckets to fill a pickup cab. That's four sliding brackets. That's four more holes you need to drill and they won't be pre-threaded. Other then that, you're in the clear.

I've never done it myself but it is my understanding that most (all?) of the pickups come from the factory with the 4 other holes already drilled. Most of the threads that I recall say something like, "just pull up the carpet and you will find the holes in the right place". It always seemed fairly trivial to go from bench to buckets, at least in the threads that I've perused. Again, never tried it myself!

I was able to install a set of 94 Acura Integra seats in my '81 using the stock front mounting holes. Made a bracket for the rear outside mount and drilled and stacked a few washers for the inside rear mount. Took all of 30 minutes to install them.
