Greetings, I'm about to switch out my gears for 4.88's or 5.29's. I have a 22RE and am currently running 33" Toyo MT's. I plan on likely running 35's next time I buy tires(about a year from now...maybe longer, these toyos are friggin awesome). My question is for peeps who have a similar setup to mine. At highway speeds, about what RPM (in 5th gear) would I be running with:
4.88's w/33" tires:

5.29's w/33" tires:

Among the reasons I am asking, is that this truck is my daily driver until I finish my car, and I want to be able to estimate my power-band and MPG and deduce which setup is going to be best for my usage. The engine is pretty much stock(im slowly building a performance/race engine for backup, but for now just have intake/exhaust on this current powerplant).

Running 5.29 gears on 33x10.50 BFG tires at 35 psi. At 65 MPH, 5th gear, my RPMs are just about exactly 3000.

 

5.29's and 37's... 68mph at 3K
